SUMMARY:BECCLE Competition Policy Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:Bergen Center for Competition Law and Economics (BECCLE) is pleased to announce the sixth annual conference on competition policy on the 2nd and 3rd of June in Bergen\, Norway.\nThe conference combines sessions with invited speakers and presentations and discussions of original research papers in the fields of competition law and economics. \nTime and date: 2 and 3 June 2022\nLocation: NHH Norwegian School of Economics\nContact: For any questions\, please contact the organising committee via beccle@nhh.no  \nRegistration: The BECCLE conference is open also for persons not presenting a paper. HERE you can register for the conference. \nTopics for the keynote speakers and invited sessions at the 2022 BECCLE conference will be (i) abuse/vertical restraints in digital markets or (ii) merger evaluations. The contributed sessions will include papers on all topics on competition law and economics\, both theoretical and empirical\, as well as case studies. The deadline for submissions has now passed. Authors of accepted papers will be notified no later than April 21\, 2022. SUMMARY:Joint purchasing of energy in the EU - competition law barriers and geopolitical implications
DESCRIPTION:On the 9th of June\, The Bergen Centre for Competition Law and Economics and the Research Group for Natural Resource Law\, Environmental Law and Development Law hosted a hybrid seminar on joint purchasing of energy with a special focus on competition law barriers and geopolitical implications of joint purchase of gas. \nThere is a public debate now regarding the function that joint gas procurement might play in energy procurement in Europe. This calls for clarification on exactly which problem joint procurement should address\, which entails the scope of gas contracts that would be considered\, economic implications and how implementation might work. \nFor more information about the seminar\, see HERE or check each speaker’s slides (click on the title).
