The 48th Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) kicks off this week, August 27 and 28. The local organizers for the conference this year are the University of Bergen and the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
As part of the program, there will be an invited session on “Competition issues in platforms,” where Özlem Bedre-Defolie (ESMT Berlin and BECCLE) will participate together with Sandro S. Shelegia (Pompeu Fabra). Keynote speakers will be Rocco Macchiavello (London School of Economics and Political Science) and Judith A. Chevalier (Yale School of Management). The program also includes several “policy corner” discussion on various important topics, such as competition issues in online platforms, regulation of the digital economy, Europe’s energy future, the Green Deal, Covid, antitrust cases in Norway, etc.

Because of Covid-19, it was decided early on that the conference should be fully digital. There are already more than 400 attendees registered for the conference. If you want to attend, it is possible to register any time before August 27. The conference platform will go live Tuesday 24 August.
