Buyer Power and its competition law implications

Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui

On 15 March, Associate Professor Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui participated at the EFTA Surveillance Authority “Competition Law Seminar Lunches”, where he held a lecture about Buyer Power and its competition law implications. The 45 people participating got the chance to learn about, among other things, what buyer power is, the effect of buyer power and more specifically, how the buyer power is affected in both cases regarding abuse of dominance, cartels, mergers and unfair trading.

The presentation was based on previous work by Ignacio, published in his award-winning monograph “Buyer Power in EU Competition Law”, and more recent interdisciplinary work on mergers with Maurice de Valois Turk , published in Ex PostEvaluation of Competition Cases.
